Meet people on Internet

As the fast development of Internet, the way of people's communication has change rapidly and greatly in recent years. People use Internet to read newspapers, watch TV, mail to each other, do shopping and play games. Internet substituted the traditional ways of getting information (TV or radio) and has become the biggest medium of communicating or boarding information in the new century.
People's life has changed after their houses were fixed computers which are connected to Internet, especially after several new ways of communicating were invented --- BBS and Net Chatting.
BBS is the short form of Bulletin Boards System. It can be used as a guestbook so people who visited the website can write down any feeling freely. And most time, it is used as a chatting or discussing board. In a BBS, many section or zones are set and people can communicate in it by writing the real-time notes. So it is a typical way to have a discussion on Internet and it is also convenient way to meet people on Internet because you can leave your mail address or homepage address so that others can get a touch with you if they were interested in your notes.
The other way right now mentioned is the Net Chatting. By using the right software you can chat with people on Internet at the same time, no matter how far you are apart. Or you can visit the chatting room which is located in some websites and chat with thousands of people synchronously. That will be a very interesting and attracting way for a person who is just a beginner of Internet. People are chatting, telling each other their stories, sometimes debating, sometimes of course even arguing.
But problems follow it subsequently. The new ways of meeting people also become dangerous in some ways, as everybody can fake their names, genders or anything else on the BBS or when chatting. The number of crime committed by Internet is rising rapidly in nowadays. I read a piece of news in the newspaper in my hometown. It said that a high school boy recognized a net friend who is in another school by the Internet. But they had a argue one day. So this boy planed a fight to that net friend. He used a chatting room and scheduled the date and place then had a fight with that poor net friend. But thanks to the webmaster's betimes discovering of the logs, the police finally seized this cabal.
Well, this is just an example of the danger on Internet. Some people steal credit card's ID and password, some fake sorties to gain money, someone set a trap for women on Internet and after succeeding in doing that, they force them to do something and so on. So we have to be much more careful when we work or disport on Internet because this is another world, a world which is not true.
I started to use Internet when I was in high journey school. It was the high-speed developing period for Internet. So much software for Internet was developed in including a lot of chatting software. The most famous chatting software is the OICQ, which means open I seek you. People can use this software to seek your ideal friend by name, gender, age or area after registered to it. I was so crazy for this one and spent a lot of time chatting on Internet. By chatting I met a lot of people who are also interested in it. My only image to these people was the icons in the friend-list. To different style of people we chatted for different things from variety of sides of lives. That's really a good way to express your emotion freely because the other side is just a man or woman who you never know and will never meet in your truth life. You haven't to worry about he or she will tell others your secret. You also haven't to be shame for talking about something you never talked about before. You are free to talk! I do found that some of us are getting quite well. I even had such a wondering that someday give them a call or meet them face to face.
But after my mom received a series bill of the net and telephone bills, after my homework and tests increased sharply, my free time spent on Internet become so limited. Gradually I started to forget who is who ( in fact, it was which icon is who). And after our topic is gone, our relationship was also gone. One day, I suddenly found that we just want to pour our heart to each other when we are both nobody else we can talk to in the truth world. Beside that kind of time, we just treat each other as a stranger. That's too cold to people, too cold for me either.
So I say goodbye to those entire Net friend and just left my real friend's and family members in my friends' list. I just use it as a tool to get touch to my friends rather than talking to a stranger seem like a brother.
Now, I realized that it is not so good for a person to depend on Internet too much. Internet is a tool. It is just a part of our lives. It can not take the place of the traditional ways of people's communication completely. This is my suggestion to all of the people who are still sung in chatting on Internet.
