I have heard a lot about the merit and demerit of the economics' fast development. To a society, the rapid progress of the economics makes every part of the nation change. It makes the nation strong and makes it become an important role in the international world. But at the same time, many social problems came out: the problem of education, entertainment and so on. After read the article about Singapore 's young generation, I have a new consider of the im pact of the development of a society .
Nowadays, the new generation of Singapore led a wealth life. Their parents were the first generation of this young country. They made a great contribution for the country so Singapore had such a high-speed development of economics. In 1979, after the shock of two oil crises, the Government started a program of economic restructuring. This was achieved by modifying education policies, expanding technology and computer education, offering financial incentives to industrial enterprises and launching a productivity campaign. This is a main description of the success of Singapore 's economical and social development.
It is obvious to all that the first generation did a great effort to the country and to the next generation who are the future of the world. But same to every developed country, the good condition make them become a spoiled generation. They cannot do anything. The domestic duties seem not their things, they cannot cook, cannot deal with other things except for shopping and chatting through mobile phone.
That's quite a terrible image in my mind. I felt that the ability of human being is degenerating if the society is developing, because it is the same to China .
Maybe China is on her period which very like to the 70's of Singapore . Now by two generation's efforts, China has a rapid development of economics. But as the better quality of lives, people can have a much comfortable living level nowadays. In the past, Chinese women were high valued because they were virtuous and can do the same as men. In the war period, women made great effort to win the war and they were praised as the half-sky. But the young generation now, especially the young girls, their lack of life knowledge make the whole society worry about our future generation. If somebody talks to others that his daughter cannot cook, that's not news for others. At home, father and mother treat them as precious so they never have a chance to do something like cleaning or cooking. So the best sample is the children who study aboard. When they leave their parents, when they leave their warm nest, they find that they cannot enter on doing the domestic duties. They cannot take care of themselves so the life's step become so confused. They don't know how to cook so they don't do that. They just eat biscuit or instant noodles. Once the room is swept by their parents, but now nobody do that for them. So it is mess. The dirty clothes are cumulated; they just wash them once a weekc
It happens. All of us had seen that. In Singapore , in China , in Japan . Humans make themselves a comfortable world but at the same time, they start to lose the ability once they were proud of. That's quite pity. Many youth, when they left the wealth lives once they had and met a lot of difficulty at aboard, they complain, they cry, they cannot accept the changing of the environment. But in fact all of it just because the lack of their preparing for life. They are spoiled.
Now, when the technology is going ahead fast, shall we think about the original style of life? Maybe they will stop us become punier and punier in the future.
